FM station launches radio-training school 
 Keeping pace with the growing desire of youngsters to take up radio jockeying and production as a profession, private FM station Radio City 91.1FM launched Radio City School of Broadcasting here Tuesday. “We aim to provide students a real time real world radio experience. The involvement of our team and senior management will ensure that students are mentored through a robust radio-training programme," said Apurva Purohit, CEO of Radio City 91.1FM and chairperson of the school of broadcasting. "The idea is to create world-class radio professionals with hands-on radio experience who are industry-ready,” added Purohit. The school is an autonomous educational unit, instituted by Music Broadcast Private Limited (MBPL), which owns and operates Radio City 91.1FM. It offers a six months certificate course in radio jockeying and production. During the course, the aspirants will be given three-month classroom training followed by a three-month internship at Radio City 91.1FM. “The course content designed by a dedicated, in-house team of radio professionals will be refreshed periodically, keeping in line with the industry dynamism. This ensures that students are exposed to a relevantly holistic learning of the Indian radio business and are ready to deliver from the first day of their jobs,” said Sagorika Kantharia, the dean of the institute. The course is targeted at graduates as well as working professionals and would cost Rs.50,000 exclusive of all taxes. For entering this programme, interested candidates would have to clear two levels - a written exam along with a group discussion followed by a personal interview. The registration for the first batch closes by Feb 27.
